Embodied Listening

Visit your inner landscapes, language and symbols

Embodied Listening, also known as 'Clean Language,' was developed by David Grove, a counseling psychologist from New Zealand. In a session, we start with body-friendly language to help you relax your mind and connect with your body. Your body often indicates where attention is needed. We listen and follow your honest perceptions. Your mind turns physical sensations into powerful images and metaphors. Allowing these images to surface leads to realizations about your genuine needs and how to fulfill them.

This approach uses language that encourages you to explore your sensations without assumptions. The practitioner may gently guide your attention to specific bodily sensations, helping you understand your feelings and needs better. Rooted in Clean Language, this method aligns with your body's wisdom, promoting a harmonious connection between mind and body during therapy.

What is Embodied Listening?

At times, we only scratch the surface of our feelings and sensations. They're there, but we might not give them much thought, maybe dismissing them or not figuring out their meaning. In other situations, we miss having someone around to help us explore our emotions and sensations more deeply. Making lasting changes becomes doable when we connect our bodies and minds and embody new ways of being rather than only thinking about them.

I offer sessions for £20 per 50 minutes.
